Product details
Our engineers have designed these sunglasses for hiking. They are lightweight and ideal for occasional use in the mountains.
The lenses block 100% of harmful UV rays, and category 3 protects against glare.
Our lenses are made from polycarbonate – a material that is highly impact-resistant but not particularly scratch-resistant. However, even if the lenses are scratched, the UV protection remains fully intact; the mirrored effect is purely aesthetic. The same applies to the color of the sunglasses. Whether gray, brown, or colored – the protection applies to every color.
Classification of tinted lenses according to ISO 12312-1 standard:
- Category 1: lightly tinted lenses for reduced sunlight.
- Category 2: moderately tinted lenses for medium sunlight.
- Category 3: darkly tinted lenses for strong sunlight (sea and mountains). Between 82% and 92% of visible light is absorbed.
- Category 4: very darkly tinted lenses for exceptional sunlight (high mountains). Between 92% and 97% of visible light is absorbed.
Why use a material with UV protection? To protect your eyes from invisible UV rays. UV rays are always present, in winter, summer, sunny weather, and even on cloudy days, which can be harmful to the eyes. To preserve eyesight, the lenses of our sunglasses are made from polycarbonate mixed with a material that provides UV protection to shield the eyes from harmful UVA and UVB rays.
For the sunglass frame, we use Rilsan Clear G850 Rnew, a polymer derived from castor oil. This material is a true enhancement to our development concept and allows for the creation of a lightweight and flexible frame.
