The story of the world-famous freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi, who was born Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, India. He initially worked as a lawyer in Bombay, but then moved to South Africa. There Gandhi worked as a lawyer for 21 years, and it was here that he had his first experience of living in ancient communities, the ashrams, founded the Tolstoy Farm near Johannesburg and later the Phoenix Ashram near Durban. In South Africa, Gandhi was imprisoned for the first time for his non-violent resistance to racial politics, in the infamous Old Fort in Johannesburg, where Nelson Mandela was later imprisoned. Returning to India, Gandhir founded a large ashram in the textile metropolis of Ahmedabad. And from there he started his legendary salt march to protest the British tax...
