Wirewin S/FTP patch cables are distinguished by their high quality and are suitable for Gigabit or 10-Gigabit connections with operating frequencies of up to 500 MHz. Applications for Category 6A cables include voice, multimedia, and data transmission as well as ATM networks. The conductors are made of 100% copper and are double-shielded. A conductor is a flexible wire made up of many thin individual strands, which makes it easy to bend. Additionally, it offers high tensile strength. The cable also features strain relief. Unlike conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free, eliminating the dangerous release of halogen-containing combustion gases. Another advantage is that exposure to toxic gases (such as hydrogen chloride gas from PVC) is minimized. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant and do not exhibit dangerous ignition cord effects. Furthermore, halogen-free cables produce less smoke in the event of a fire.
