What’s a Sabrina neckline and what does Queen Anne have to do with your cleavage?
Know what a round neckline is? For sure. A V-neck? Easy. But what about a boat neck or a waterfall neckline? You’re not sure? Then this neckline guide’s just what you need.
Tops with a boat neckline are all the rage this summer. As are waterfall necklines, which already adorned stylish necks back in the late 90s. Despite their somewhat misleading names, both necklines have nothing to do with boats or water.
Sabrina neckline
This neckline’s also known as a boat neck or bateau neck. Its oval shape that elegantly lines the collarbone is said to have its origins in the French navy – which explains the nautical reference. Today, you don’t have to be on the high seas to wear this flattering neckline.

Waterfall neckline
Once you know what this neckline looks like, you’ll understand where the name comes from. The way the fabric’s elegantly draped around the cleavage area and pours down towards the navel creates a dynamic silhouette – and looks like water pouring down a waterfall.

Halter neck
Tops with a halter neck are strapless on your shoulders, but tied behind your neck.

Queen Anne neckline
This neckline looks just as elegant is it sounds. You can recognise it by the high collar and heart-shaped neckline. Besides tops, wedding dresses often feature the very feminine Queen Anne neckline.

Always in the mood for good hits, great trips and clinking drinks.
