What does the Lunii Story Factory have in store for us?

Storytelling has never been so easy. Lunii's new magic radio contains 48 stories and promises to keep children occupied in a fun, screen-free way. Let's see what the device has up its sleeve.
This year, our holiday destination is over six hours away. It's the perfect opportunity to try out Lunii's Story Factory.
We hit the road just before 5am. But despite the monotonous noise of the engine, my daughters can't find sleep. The CD of children's songs starts all over again. They still can't sleep. I regularly turn round towards the back seat to give them a new book. Hoping they'll fall asleep. It doesn't work. Change of method: I give them a Tiptoi book. But the orange pen, which is needed for the book, has unfortunately ended up in the boot. No way of getting it. I need a new idea: Lunii!

Introduction to the Story Factory
The Lunii radio has three yellow buttons (house, pause, OK) and two knobs. The one on the side is the volume control. With the OK button, you or your child can start selecting a hero, companion, place and object. Using the large wheel on the front, you can move from one choice to another and confirm the selection with the "OK" button. What's more, the story elements light up on the front of the product. And that's it! Once you've made your choices, the story can begin. If you want to pause it, use the 'Pause' button. To end the story or choose a new one, press the home button. I demonstrated this to my daughter (aged 3.5) once, and she was able to use the device on her own afterwards. It's intuitive, handy and lightweight.

Flexible listening
Your child can listen to their stories with or without headphones. Lunii's "Octave" headphones are, thanks to a volume limit of 85 decibels, specially designed for children's ears. They are foldable, robust and comfortable. What's more, they're adjustable. With one of six sticker designs, your child can personalise their headphones. And thanks to the double jack, two children can listen to the stories at the same time. Plug in two headphones, choose your story together and listen - it's as simple as that. Only the selection of the story could be a source of contention. Thanks to the standard jack socket, you can use other headphones with the device.
Stories
This multimedia device for children contains a total of 48 stories. They last between four and six minutes. You get six more stories for free on the Lunii homepage. The manufacturer will then guide you to its Luniistore. Once you've installed the Luniistore on your device, you can add the free stories to your basket and buy them for zero money. To do this, you'll need a credit card. Of course, the manufacturer hopes that you will order paying items with your order. From the manufacturer's point of view, this makes sense, as I find this process tedious for the customer. According to the manufacturer, the device's 14-day right of withdrawal expires after an initial order has been placed. This is probably also one of the reasons why the manufacturer is offering the six stories free via its library.

But for long car journeys and regular use of the Story Factory, I think buying extra stories is well worth it. This gives your child more choice.
The device is designed for children aged three to ten. For "older" children, you can buy age-appropriate stories. For the latter, the child can partly shape the course of the story by intervening in the plot by choosing certain elements.
Languages
As the Fabrique à Histoires Lunii comes from France, French speakers have an advantage. No fewer than 74 albums are available in the Luniistore. What's more, there are a few stories in Russian, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, English (UK), Flemish and German.
Overview
After two weeks on holiday, my daughter fell in love with this device. It was to accompany us on every outing. Only the variety and length of the stories bothered her. She often said to me, "Mummy, the story's already finished!" or "I want the story with the princess, where is she?". For my daughter, the princess could be the source of all stories.

I share the same opinion as my daughter. There should be more and longer stories. I haven't tried the paid variants, but with 74 albums, there's plenty to do.
To fit better in the handbag, the radio could be a little more compact. One problem arises when it's carried in a bag: rubbing up against other stuff can cause the volume control knob to turn. The device then turned on and the battery discharged without us noticing. When we went on holiday, we were only able to test the Fabrique for a few minutes. The manufacturer could eliminate this problem by creating an additional on/off button. In addition, the elements of the stories that light up are barely visible in direct sunlight.
All in all, I like the idea of the Story Factory. Only the purchase price of the radio and headphones is a little too high for my liking. Especially as the other stories are chargeable.
