Weekly Fashion Hack: trouser belt too tight
by Vanessa Kim
There are simple tricks you can use to arrange your clothes to your liking. I present them to you in a multi-part series.
Hand on heart: how many times have you bought clothes that do not fit well? I can say a thing or two about that. If I like something, I buy it. And it doesn't matter if my dream garment is sold out in my size. I convince myself that I look better in a bigger size: nothing could be more wrong! Enough, I don't want any more of these skeletons in my wardrobe. I show you how to wear clothes that no longer fit again. Or how you can use accessories for other purposes to add variety to your wardrobe. In the first article of my series of tricks, I will show you how to tighten trousers that are too loose at the waist without using a needle and thread.
The first casualty of my wardrobe is a pair of jeans. Since I am not a fan of belts, I make use of another solution. Before closing the trousers as usual, I pass the button through the first belt loop, which is on the right. Afterwards I close as usual. And that's it. Your jeans immediately look better. The highlight: with this method, the trousers don't tighten up even after a sumptuous meal after the holidays, you just fasten them normally.
I admit it takes some getting used to this fashion. Especially if you pair it with a short top, in which case I recommend a belt. However, if you wear a long top, no one will notice the trick.

In the next episode, I'll reveal how to widen your trouser waistband if it's too tight. Don't worry: you don't need a needle and thread here either.
