Blogger lalasophie is our go-to woman when it comes to flavours. We wanted to know from her whether the Braun MultiQuick9 is any good. You can read Sophie's verdict here.

This box is now sitting in my living room and my head is already full of menu suggestions for testing this blending wonder. And indeed it is. The Braun MultiQuick 9 is not just a blender but also
a chopper and a whisk. With its 1000 watts, it is even the most powerful of the Braun hand blenders.

I used the Braun MultiQuick 9 hand blender to cook a sweet potato soup with salmon and for dessert I made a super refreshing and delicious pineapple and lemon sorbet with just two ingredients. The chopper attachment makes this refreshing ice cream in just a few minutes.

But first things first.

When you unpack the box, you find all the accessories neatly packaged, with operating instructions and a warranty card. The items are clean and in perfect condition.

Once you have put on the appropriate attachment (in this case the blender attachment) and connected the appliance to the power supply, you have to press the unlock button on the top. Only then does the blender start.
Perfect for households with children or people like me who are constantly cutting themselves in some way.

So I started cooking and, above all, pureeing and I'm absolutely thrilled.
But really so what. You press the button and the food is pureed in seconds. Incidentally, the Braun MultiQuick 9 is very, very quiet for such an appliance. It was definitely a very pleasant experience to cook with it and I can recommend it with a clear conscience. Yes, I would even say that without the Braun MultiQuick 9 you are missing something in the kitchen.

But now it's time to cook!

We start with the main course for 2 people:

Sweet potato soup with salmon

  • 600 grams of sweet potatoes
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 400 ml coconut milk (half-and-half can be used as an alternative)
  • 200 ml water
  • 1 teaspoon of sunflower oil
  • 4 slices of smoked salmon
  • 2 wooden skewers
  • 2 tablespoons of crème fraîche
  • a little flat-leaf parsley (or coriander) for decoration

And this is how it's done

  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into small cubes.

Peel the garlic and cut it into small cubes as well.

Then peel and roughly chop the onion.

  1. Heat a teaspoon of sunflower oil in a medium-sized pan and add the onion. Sweat the onion pieces over a high heat while stirring.
  2. Add the sweet potato pieces and chopped garlic and pour in the coconut milk and water.
  3. Now add the salt and reduce the heat slightly.
  4. Leave everything to simmer for about 15 minutes until the sweet potatoes are nice and soft.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and puree everything into a soup.

Now you can taste it and add a little salt if necessary.

  1. Divide the soup into two bowls and place a dollop of crème fraîche in the centre of each. Garnish with a little parsley and the salmon skewer.

And for dessert there's:

Pineapple and lemon sorbet
for two people

  • 1 pineapple
  • 1 organic lemon

And this is how it's made

  1. Peel the pineapple and cut it into small cubes.

Place the pineapple cubes in a container suitable for the freezer and leave to freeze overnight.

  1. Place the frozen pineapple cubes with the grated zest of half a lemon in the Braun MultiQuick 9 chopper and puree everything.

After 2 minutes and a little stirring in between, you have the perfect,
really p e r f e c t sorbet. And without any sugar or other additives.

Have fun trying it out!
