Loafers are the perfect transitional shoes

If you're looking for an alternative to your trainers, a loafer is the right choice. The trendy shoe is not only comfortable, but also looks stylish. No wonder everyone wants them right now.
If your motto is "less is more", it's worth investing in timeless classics, not just dresses. When it comes to shoes, these include black pumps and trainers as well as loafers, which you can't go wrong with this season. Because no other pair of trainers will get you dressed so quickly. Just slip them on. And you're done. Even jogging trousers will look chic.
Contrary to expectations, timeless pieces are not just for bores. On the contrary: with the right styling, an on-trend piece can be transformed into a convincing trendy look. When putting together your outfit, however, make sure that you limit yourself to one classic piece per outfit. Unless it's a modern version such as a chunky chunky loafer or an oversized trench coat. So if you want to combine the loafer with a blazer, don't go for a fitted and cropped model, but an oversized, boxy one. This turns a supposed business look into a casual everyday outfit.
As the low shoes are at least as comfortable as flat summer sandals, I'll be wearing them up and down as long as the temperatures allow. Here are some styling alternatives to conventional blue jeans looks:
All Black

These two Insta-outfits prove that monochrome looks are anything but boring. So if you need to be chic on the go but don't want to dress up, this is the perfect compromise.
The look is casual with black high-waist denim like blogger Lisa Saliba wears. To emphasise your waist, tuck a blouse, oversized shirt or fine-knit jumper into the waistband. Like Petra Mack, stick to non-colour when it comes to accessories. The sunglasses and bag round off the influencer's look.
Skirt vs trousers

Do you find it hard to say goodbye to your summer skirts during the transitional season? As long as the temperatures allow, I combine my silk skirt (without tights) with loafers. If you prefer trousers but don't fancy denim styles, wide culottes or pleated trousers are a great alternative. Petra Mack combines these with an oversized jacket and a simple top. If the brunette were to wear a fitted short blazer with them, the outfit would lose its impact.
Socks

A loafer looks extravagant when you wear it with socks. I particularly like semi-transparent, dotted or glittery styles. On the other hand, Pernille Teisbaek shows a sporty version on Instagram. The stylist opts for white tennis socks with rough loafers.
If feminine is more your thing, buy the loafers with a block heel. To be prepared for the cold season, influencer Lisa Hahnbück styles her high heels with pink knitted tights. With a long coat plus thick tights - pink is not a must, I prefer black - you can wear a mini skirt and loafers even in cool temperatures.
