They are the faces of the online sales show "Galaxus TV": Anina Sara Baumgartner and Remo Kaufmann. In this interview, they reveal how they joined the show, what makes them different and what they have in common with Francine Jordi.

"Improvisation is what attracted me to becoming a presenter at Galaxus TV," says Anina Baumgartner. Until now, the upbeat actress from eastern Switzerland has mainly worked as an actress in films and adverts. That was the name of the game: Learning by heart! Now she's hosting Galaxus' new internet TV format, and there's a catch: the presenters don't know what products they'll be selling. "Remo is much tidier, he always has to have the presentation prepared. It stresses me out less when I have to improvise." "Yes, that's true...", says Remo Kaufmann. "Although in the last programme, it was only the first four sentences that I prepared."

Remo, who comes from the canton of Graubünden, has also worked as an actor and model and lived in Berlin for five years. He has experience in presenting events. The duo have already hosted two programmes and have tried out and sold products from various categories, from cat litter trays to pasta machines. "The first programme was a huge mess. But somehow that's why it turned out funny," Remo remembers. "I wasn't even that nervous," adds Anina.

Video shoot with Francine Jordi

The two applied for the job as Galaxus TV presenters independently of each other. They already knew each other from previous projects. Both have a background in acting and have already filmed together for a major Swiss beer brand and a people magazine. "One was a project where we had to sing with Francine Jordi. That was pretty cool, but unfortunately it was never published," Remo remembers. "So we had already known each other for about three days," adds Anina. The fact that they are now standing in front of the camera together again is more of a nice coincidence.

The collaboration is already going quite well. "We are slowly consolidating and showing our individual sides. Remo, for example, often thinks the products are super casual and great. I tend to be more critical. Friends have already asked me whether this is specifically attributed to our roles... but it's not! I just couldn't do anything with the knife from the second programme," says Anina. Which product would she be absolutely thrilled with? "Definitely: a portable ironing system that I can take anywhere. I love ironing and iron everything, including socks and bed linen!" says Anina with a laugh.

Almost like the infatuation phase

The first two programmes have not yet been widely advertised, but now Galaxus TV is set to really take off. "I wasn't so happy with my performance at first, but we're on the right track," says the self-critical Remo from Graubünden. "I'm almost not allowed to say it, but at the beginning I saw Anina as a typical Zurich native. She's a bit more critical and I'm lively and clumsy. It's actually a great match," says Kaufmann. "So far, there have been very few products that I've really liked. The cuddly tiger convinced me, but it's for children and I don't have any children," adds Anina. "At the moment we're like in the infatuation phase, everything is still so exciting and thrilling," says Anina and Remo adds that he still sees some potential for optimisation, especially when it comes to the products: "On the one hand, we need products that are simply absurd and where we have to puzzle over what they could be, and then we also need products that sell like hotcakes."

When I flew the family nest over 15 years ago, I suddenly had to cook for myself. But it wasn’t long until this necessity became a virtue. Today, rattling those pots and pans is a fundamental part of my life. I’m a true foodie and devour everything from junk food to star-awarded cuisine. Literally. I eat way too fast.
