Galaxus Mobile: the new mobile plan by Digitec Galaxus

Bye-bye, digitec connect, hello, Galaxus Mobile! The mobile plan by Digitec Galaxus just got cheaper – and a new name at the same time. You now get to choose between a basic plan and a plan that includes unlimited data and calls in Switzerland. Existing customers have been transferred to the latter and now get more value for money.

digitec connect is no more: the new Digitec Galaxus mobile service is now called Galaxus Mobile. It offers a plan for pretty much everyone. With the Basic plan, you get 3 GB data for 14 francs per month. The CH Unlimited plan costs 19 francs per month and includes unlimited data in Switzerland and 1 GB data in the EU/USA per month. Both models include full 5G speed at no extra cost and unlimited calls and SMS in Switzerland.

Stepping back from the battle

Galaxus Mobile is now consistently affordable: «We wanted to get out of the discount battle we were part of and which is so typical for the industry,» says Thomas Peter, the man in charge of mobile plans at Digitec Galaxus. «Instead, customers now always get a very good price and a very good service, no matter when they subscribe to their plan.»

What remains unchanged, however, is Family + Friends. This option means up to five people can band together, and each added member will bring the price of all the members’ plans down by one franc. In other words, together with your loved ones, the Basic plan is available from 10 francs and the unlimited plan from 15 francs.

Nothing changes with the contracts, and they remain flexible with Galaxus Mobile. Customers can still cancel on a monthly basis – or even on a daily basis during the first month. Galaxus doesn’t do activation fees, either.

If you’re a student with a SWITCH edu-ID, the Galaxus Mobile CH Unlimited plan will cost you 16.– per month. And with Family + Friends for five people, you’re all looking at 12.– per month and plan. What’s more, only one Family member needs to have a SWITCH edu-ID. All other Family + Friends members will also benefit from the preferential price, even if they don’t have a SWITCH edu-ID.

Business customers also get to enjoy attractive conditions thanks to the Galaxus Mobile preferential programme. Companies and associations can apply for a discounted company connection. This allows them to offer their employees or members preferential rates on their private mobile phone connections.
