Four trends: new and enduring

We asked our buyers what trends they were banking on when planning their ranges.
Design for all
Today, our pets have the right to the same aesthetic requirements as we do for their furniture. Their accessories must fit in with our interiors. Bowls and baskets have also become design objects. Until now, we tended to hide our cat trees and dog baskets. Today they are displayed in elegant coverings thanks to the use of high-quality materials that are partly handmade.
Urban gardening turns into micro-gardening
Not all city dwellers have their own plot in allotments, but the new wave of urban gardening has no shortage of innovative ideas. Micro-gardening is ideal for anyone who's short on space but still wants to grow their own fruit and veg. Every nook and cranny of your living room or balcony can be used to grow vegetables, herbs, fruit and other sprouts. This isn't just a passing trend; the UN sees it as a solution to feeding the world.
Back to the 90s
The fashion of the years leading up to the new millennium is enjoying a new lease of life, even if those years are not so long ago. Perhaps you're also one of those with a good nose for fashion and still have a few 90s relics in your wardrobe. Back then, sportswear brands Umbro and Fila were at the cutting edge of fashion, and in a very short space of time became the number 1 streetwear brands. Thanks in no small part to their 'Rap' cuts, which showcased a sporty, suburban look. An important detail for this look: the logo must appear very large on the chest.
In search of security
The need for security is increasingly prevalent in our society. Especially now that the days are getting shorter, night falls earlier and people want to make sure their home is safe when they're away. That's why more and more of our villas and two-bedrooms are fitted with alarm systems and (fake) surveillance cameras. This is where home automation and systems that can be controlled via smartphone applications come in.
