Cleaning well with pressure
High-pressure cleaners are used to clean walls, floors, stubborn dirt on the patio, in the gutter or on garden furniture. As their application is virtually unlimited, it's important to know what to look out for before buying a high-pressure cleaner.
In order to be completely satisfied with the performance of your pressure washer, you need to consider the following points.
Pressure isn't everything
Wrongly, we often think that pressure is the only factor that counts in a pressure washer. In truth, the water flow rate is another decisive factor. At a flow rate of 8 litres or less, the water vaporises quickly when used under pressure. We recommend a flow rate of at least 10 to 12 litres per minute and a minimum pressure of 100 bar up to around 200 bar.
Sometimes you have to keep your distance
Generally, the following rule applies: the closer you work to the floor, the more targeted the cleaning, but it takes longer to clean. If you are too close to delicate materials, they can be damaged.
By regulating the pressure, the intensity of the jet can be adapted to the surface. We recommend testing the distance at one point and moving further away for sensitive surfaces. When cleaning tiles and windows, it is essential to avoid joints. When cleaning lacquered metal, we recommend a minimum distance of 20cm. It is also advisable never to clean car tyres up close. When using a high-pressure cleaner, we recommend wearing good footwear and safety goggles when cleaning wood. Children should stay away.
Beware of sense
To avoid a possible short circuit, always clean away from the appliance.
To prevent the hose from twisting, the presence of a specific device is recommended.
The right accessory for the right dirt
The right accessories are important. Nozzles and brushes are basic accessories and one of each should be provided. To save money in the long run, it's a good idea to check that spare parts are available. For larger surfaces, a rotating nozzle is recommended, and for terrace cleaning, a surface cleaner.
