A beauty tour of Italy
It’s no secret that we’ve been successively expanding our range of Italian brands. In this article, I’ll introduce you to a few new arrivals in our cosmetics range.
The Galaxus range is brimming with beauty products that are 100% Italian-made. I’ve taken a closer look at some of the most recent arrivals.
Italian hair care with Alfaparf
Let’s start with Alfaparf, a brand that’s primarily established itself in haircare. Its range comprises shampoos, conditioners, hair dyes, masks, styling products ... you name it. Alfaparf hair care products are made in Italy, but their ingredients have a much more global provenance. For instance, in addition to hair care classics such as milk and wheat proteins, bamboo extracts and babassu oil have found their way out of the Amazon and into Alfaparf products.

A complex formula for an effect that lasts hours
CTO Complex also offers products that are 100 per cent Italian-made. Want to look younger by using a highly effective face cream? That’s at least what the manufacturer promises with its CBD face serum. CTO Complex says the serum has an innovative texture that helps the skin look radiant throughout the day. At the same time, it fights the first signs of ageing on both younger and older faces – all thanks to its ingredients, which include bergamia fruit oil, lime peel oil and camomile flower extract. To use the serum, massage three drops into your skin with your fingertips daily before leaving it to absorb. There’s no need to rinse it off.
Hyalustar – the new beauty all-rounder
Whether it’s mascara, hand cream, body lotion or lip balm, Hyalustar has an extensive repertoire. The manufacturer’s home page states that it uses «next-generation» ingredients. The most important one, as you might have already guessed, is hyaluronic acid – a polysaccharide capable of binding a large quantity of water molecules, which therefore improves the skin’s ability to retain moisture.
Carthusia – the scents of Capri
The idea had its genesis on the rocky island of Capri; in 1948, a prior i.e. the head of a monastery, discovered some perfume formulas dating back to the Middle Ages. He shared them with a chemist, who then experimented with the formulas in his lab, Carthusia. Prior to that, they had been revised by a renowned perfumer. Carthusia fragrances continue to be produced in this lab today, with each bottle filled and boxed by hand. And the contents of said bottles? Naturally, the fragrances contain exquisite Capresian ingredients, such as wild clove or rosemary found on Monte Solaro. The Carthusia website says, «Capri fragrances are like the island itself: beautiful, classy and elegant.»
Natural care products from Neutro Roberts
Florence-based brand Neutro Roberts advertises its products as being both natural and effective. The bath foam, for example, contains jojoba oil and rice. Ingredients which, Neutro Roberts promises, support the natural regeneration of the epidermis. The result? Silky soft skin. What’s more, Neutro Roberts handwash, for instance, is enriched with natural glycerine to provide your hands with as much moisture as possible.
