Designworks Market Bag Picnic
Doing your shopping in style: these three bags will brighten up your next trip to the supermarket
Ready to take shopping to the next level? Here are three cleverly designed bags with impressive appearance and functionality.
We’ve all been there: standing in the supermarket, annoyed about leaving shopping bags at home yet again. Luckily, this rarely happens to me anymore. Not because my memory’s better now, but because I use pretty bags that catch my attention.
These three colourful bags are hanging up in my hallway and begging to be taken to the supermarket:
1. Transparent check
The Designworks «Market Bag» impresses with its colourful, slightly transparent appearance. The fabric is made from recycled bottles, is ultra-light and can be folded up incredibly small. This means I can easily store it in my handbag for spontaneous shopping. It’s also easy to machine wash and is ready to use again almost immediately: the material hardly absorbs any moisture and comes out of the drum almost dry.
I also love the small external pocket where I can put my keys, for example. When I’m standing on the doorstep after a shopping trip with my hands full, I’m so happy that I don’t have to rummage through my purchases.
2. Pink netting
Netted shopping bags are a classic. This hand-knotted nylon model from Cedon stands out from the crowd with a stylish leather handle. Sure, it’s not suitable for bulk purchases. But don’t let the small size fool you. The bag can hold up to ten kilos and stretches a lot. I like to use it for small purchases or take it with me as an additional bag fruit and for vegetables – it’s all about bag layering.
The only drawback: the leather handles aren’t removable. In other words, the bag can’t be washed in the washing machine, or only at your own risk.
3. Cosy terry cloth
The extremely spacious «Naram» bag from Bongusta is probably my favourite of the three. The cotton terrycloth not only gives the bag an unusual look, it also ensures that the handles don’t cut in, even with heavy contents. Because it’s slightly longer, I can also carry it comfortably over my shoulder – even when I’m wearing a thick jacket. Terrycloth is also very easy to care for and can be put in both the washing machine and the tumble dryer.
By the way, the model is available in three other colour combinations – all of which I like: lilac-light yellow, pale green-dark green and beige-dark blue.
Has endless love for shoulder pads, Stratocasters and sashimi, but a limited tolerance for bad impressions of her Eastern Swiss dialect.
