Warmth, protection, mobility and small pack size: our iconic Ortles "Heavy" down jacket is designed as a safe, warm barrier for mountaineering, climbing and expeditions in sub-zero temperatures.

This model has a particularly robust, water-resistant outer shell made from double-layer PU-coated Ripstop Powertex Extreme to protect you from the elements and keep you dry. It's designed to meet the needs of advanced mountaineers, putting detailed feedback from our team of athletes and guides into practice.

Inside, we use high quality, pure 90/10 down with a 750 fill power for enhanced thermal insulation, as well as a soft, comfortable lining. It has a 3D box down chamber construction, Free Motion cut construction and an athletic fit that prevents riding up the hem when climbing and ensures complete freedom of movement. All our down complies with the Responsible Down Standard and comes from independently audited and traceable sources to ensure birds are not plucked or stuffed alive.

The new hood design is fully compatible with helmets, but can also be adjusted with the zip gusset as well as drawcord to a close-fitting, perfect fit without a helmet. It is integrated into the high collar and has integrated drawstrings at the neckline and top for extra storm protection. The two-way zip provides excellent access to your harness and belay device under your jacket.
