Product details
Selected from the best vineyards of Alvi's Drift, the grapes come predominantly from older vineyards planted on the chalky soils along the Breede River. The individual vineyards are vinified in barrels selected for various characteristics and representing different co-operatives, regions and age groups.
The grapes are 100% fermented using wild yeast and matured for a further eleven months. The barrels are then tasted individually and blended together to reveal the complexity and character of the terroir and vintage.
The wine has a bright and brilliant straw colour. The complex nose is dominated by nectarine and peach fruit with well-integrated toasted oak characteristics. The palate is rich and creamy with a viscous mouthfeel. Flavours of roasted cashew nuts and vanilla pods tickle the senses. Soft, full and round, yet elegant, the palate lingers for an eternity.
