TIO Tiomatics

The TIO universally compatible brush head for electric toothbrushes features a rotating, round head that gently and effectively cleans every tooth surface, leaving a smooth and pleasant feeling. The attachment area, housing, and rotating plate of the brush head are made from plant-based and recyclable bioplastics. Only the movable axis inside is still made of conventional petroleum-based plastic due to high stress, which constitutes about 10% of the brush head. The bristles are made from Nylon 10.10, a plant-based alternative derived from castor oil.

The packaging is made from FSC®-certified cardboard and is easily recyclable.

Disposal

The packaging should go in the paper recycling bin. The attachment area, housing, and rotating plate can be recycled in the yellow bin, but they must be carefully separated from each other, which can be challenging. All other parts belong in the residual waste.

If someone finds the separation too cumbersome, they can dispose of the entire brush head in the residual waste. Through thermal recovery, a lot of energy is regained, as the main component is of plant origin, releasing only as much CO2 as the plants absorbed during their growth.
