Is this brush suitable for short hair? Approx 2-6cm (I have curls, and want to grow them out, but also want to have a sensible serious hairstyle at this time. Any other recommendations?

rather no! you need a certain length of hair to be able to pull the brush through well. for shorter hair i would recommend a classic straightening iron.
