NaturKraftWerke Astaxanthin Oleoresin

Astaxanthin is a natural pigment and a well-known, powerful antioxidant from the carotenoid family. It is primarily found in algae, as well as in a few fungi and bacteria.

The organic astaxanthin extract for our Astaxanthin Oleoresin Vegicaps is obtained chemical-free from the red algae Haematococcus pluvialis using a so-called supercritical fluid process. In glass tube facilities, the red algae are cultivated according to strict guidelines and regulations of organic farming for aquaculture, utilizing water and sunlight in a closed, controllable, and resource-neutral system.

The water used for the algae culture is pure and permanently controlled mountain spring water from the Czech Krkonošsko region. The production site has its own water source and features an internal water recycling system. Electricity and heat supply come from renewable energy sources.

After harvesting and drying the algae, the valuable antioxidant astaxanthin is extracted from the biomass. The result is a pure, oily astaxanthin oleoresin with a beautifully rich dark red color. Mixed with high-quality organic olive oil, the oleoresin is then encapsulated and prepared for consumption.
