It’s vacation time and high season in Åre. The most prestigious design hotel in the area, the Copperhill Mountain Lodge, is fully booked. But then the staff discovers a woman who has been brutally stabbed to death in the hotel’s most beautiful suite. Charlotte Wretlind had her throat slit, and the bed is sticky with blood. Panic spreads throughout the area, and Daniel Lindskog and his colleague Hanna Ahlander immediately take on the case. The clues lead to a famous old mountain hotel in a traditional but rundown ski resort that has long lost its former glory: Charlotte, a successful businesswoman, had known the area since childhood. She wanted to tear down the hotel and replace it with a spectacular new one designed to attract wealthy tourists from around the world. The locals met her with fierce resistance. However, Charlotte stopped at nothing to enforce her will. Together, Hanna and Daniel investigate this case, marked by broken relationships and painful childhood memories.
