Revell Submarine type VIIC/41

From the summer of 1943, a total of 91 submarines of the Type VII C/41 were commissioned. By this time, the operational conditions had changed completely. The pack tactics rarely led to successful detection of ship convoys, and specialized anti-submarine aircraft were now patrolling extensively. To better defend against air attacks when surfacing, the Type VII C/41 submarines were equipped with a tower structure that was expanded into a large winter garden. This is accurately represented in the model with two 20 mm twin anti-aircraft guns and a 37 mm M42U anti-aircraft cannon. An erectable snorkel mast for fresh and exhaust air management, designed to be movable in the model, and four watertight pressure containers with 5-man life rafts were additional features of these submarines. Thanks to improved construction steel, the boats could now dive to a depth of 250 meters.
