Mein linker Fuss - My Left Foot

Christy Brown is born into a poor Irish working class family as one of 22 children (13 of whom survive). He suffers from polio and can neither speak nor walk, and the resources to support him are scarce. While he receives much love from his mother, his father does not believe in the special boy. However, when one day he manages to save his mother despite his limited communication skills, his father also begins to see something in Christy. Christy realises that he can write, and above all, paint with his left foot, and so he begins to spend a lot of time with his new hobby. But apart from the difficulties of everyday life as a handicapped artist, the young man also has to face the pain of unrequited love. (1 Blu-ray)
