Kögler Gonggi

Traditional Korean folk game, Gonggi, elongated Level 1: The five stones are thrown onto the playing surface. The player then picks up one of the stones and throws it into the air. While it is in the air, another stone must be picked up and then the previously thrown stone must be picked up again. This is repeated until all the other stones have been collected step by step. Only one hand may be used at a time. Level 2: The player throws the five stones onto the playing surface again and basically does the same as in level 1, with the difference that this time two stones have to be collected at once while the thrown stone is in the air. Level 3: Level 3 also follows the same basic principle as the first two rounds, except that here the player must first pick up three stones and then one stone while the thrown stone is in the air. Level 4: Now the player first throws a single stone into the air, then throws the remaining stones onto the playing field and finally picks up the stone that was thrown up. The same stone is then thrown up again, the four remaining stones are collected all at once and the stone that was thrown up is picked up again. Level 5: Here the player throws all five stones up at once and then turns their throwing hand round to catch the stones on the back of their hand. The stones caught in this way are then thrown upwards again with the back of the hand and must then finally be snatched out of the air with the same hand.
