Scheppach DS930

The Scheppach DS930 wall and ceiling sander is a specialized drywall sander, often referred to as a sanding giraffe or long-neck sander due to its shape. It is designed for sanding ceilings and walls, effectively removing paint, adhesive, plaster, wallpaper, and filler residue, as well as roughening paint for repainting or sanding floors. The weight and handling of the device are crucial for overhead work, particularly for ceiling sanding, and the DS930 is specifically designed for this purpose. Weighing only 4.5 kg, it is light enough for prolonged use, and several gripping options help prevent arm fatigue.

The telescopic pole can be adjusted between 140 cm and 165 cm to optimally match the ceiling height to your own height. The DS930 features both a round and a triangular tilting sanding head, which can be switched based on requirements. The 215 mm sanding disc is perfect for larger surfaces, while the sanding triangle is ideal for corners and edges. Depending on the surface and application, the speed or oscillation rate of the sander can be adjusted: a low oscillation rate is suitable for rough work, while a high oscillation rate is best for fine work. The speed is set in advance using a rotary control, and the switch-on button can be conveniently locked for continuous operation.

For even smoothing of walls and ceilings, sensitivity is often more important than speed. To minimize dust generation, the DS930 includes an integrated suction device. With a 4-metre suction hose and a suitable vacuum, the work area can be kept clean. The package includes a total of 24 sanding discs (12 round and 12 triangular), which can be easily changed using the Velcro fastener. The DS930 can also be conveniently dismantled for storage and transport.
