Product details

The most well-known hydrangea is probably the Hydrangea macrophylla, better known as the French hydrangea. The hydrangea got its name because the plants were often planted near farms. With these colorful hydrangeas, you will have a true eye-catcher for your garden! They are in full bloom during the summer and make your garden shine. These classic blue hydrangeas are so popular because these shrubs bloom so abundantly with their large blue flowers.

Care
It is important to cut off the dead flowers in the summer. However, leave the old flowers in place during the winter months. They serve as protection for the new flower buds against frost and strong winds. In March, when there is no more risk of frost, all the brown, old flowers can be cut back to just above the first or second healthy bud. This method of pruning encourages the growth of new shoots and ensures that the flower size does not decrease. All types of hydrangeas do not tolerate dryness at all. Water them well during dry spells, especially in spring and summer. It is not advisable to give them just a little water now and then. It is best to provide them with a large amount of water all at once. From time to time, hydrangeas may become somewhat bare at the base during the blooming period. The leaves may also turn yellow. This is almost always due to dryness.
