Product details
Ficus Ginseng grows in the beautiful south of China and in Malaysia. Ginseng is the Chinese word for "root," referring to the plant's trunk. This true bonsai tree takes years to develop its roots. Then, the small-leaved Ficus is grafted onto the rootstock. With a lot of patience, the plant is pruned to achieve the bonsai-like shape. The Ficus belongs to the mulberry family (Moraceae) and is one of the most popular bonsai species for beginners.
Care: Ficus Ginseng requires a bright location without direct sunlight. The brighter the plant is, the more water it needs. Therefore, water it regularly and do not let the root ball dry out. The plant can even be placed outside for a while in the summer, as long as the temperature does not drop below 12-15 degrees Celsius. Water less in winter and keep it at 12-15 degrees Celsius. Yellow, brown, or unsightly leaves can be safely removed. Additionally, the plant can be pruned in the fall to keep the Ficus in good shape. To give the plant extra vitality, it can be fed with bonsai nutrition.
