After a week of testing, the first trials are really convincing. The ice creams have an intense taste and a structure like in the best ice cream shops. Another advantage is that the amount of sugar used is much lower than in industrial ice cream, due to the use of fresh and ripe fruit.

Mamma mia: only good ice cream. The most expensive machine, but I don't regret one second for my first ice cream maker. A bit imposing (like a big bread machine), but nice finish. Once the preparation is cooled (12-24h), the ice cream is ready between 30 and 60 minutes. Great texture. Nothing failed from the beginning: vanilla ice cream, prune-cinnamon ice cream (a killer), apricot ice cream (another killer). Very strong and not noisy at all. Everything is washable and removable. Very easy to use. Tip top. Highly recommended for homemade ice cream/sorbets. Never tried the others but I think this is the best of the best.

Who may judge and select an ice cream machine after "smart features" or even the "wattage", which can already do so. Is just as meaningful as the weather on the coffee grounds determine.
The field of compressor ice machines is filled with nonsensically overpriced devices that differ only in irrelevant features and come with power specifications that do not allow any relevant conclusion about the effective performance values of the device. Or do you really think that a device with 180W makes better ice cream than one with 150W? Of course, because a Ferrari is also "always better" than a VW Golf.
The Magimix is an investment, but the only consumer appliance that comes close to the semi-pro league. The Magimix reaches a temperature of -30°C in about 3-4 minutes and the compressor works reliably enough to maintain this temperature. The SAGE never cooled lower than 24° in my tests and could not quickly compensate for the rise in temperature when ingredients were added. Also with the SAGE, the compressor stops for several minutes if you pause the agitator briefly.
The Magimix is sturdily built, whisper quiet compared to other machines and cleaning could not be easier: the stainless steel pot and the stirring paddles are dishwasher safe. But you do not need at all, because warm water with a drop of detergent is quite sufficient.
The design here is stacked, meaning the compressor sits under the mixing bowl, making the footprint of the machine a little less than an A4 sheet, but it builds a little taller. With 40cm it fits easily in our kitchen in a standard cabinet with 2/3 drawer.
If you're looking for a glacé machine you should either go for an inexpensive model, or make the investment. The whole SAGE/Unold/Domo/Solis-rig in between is nothing but money-making with re-labeled devices.
