  It is somewhat effective but not all the way.

  Not bad but not incredible either. Does it cool down a space? By not much, 1 to 2 Deg. Cels. at most. Does it feel cooler? Somewhat, but placement matters in this case. Because of the height and the oscillation mechanism, it only cools as high as that, so if you are sitting or standing by your office desk, your legs will be cool, but that’s all. No effect on the body parts or room space that are not within the height of the fan.
  
  Trick to help with cooling further: in addition to the ice block, use cooled water from your fridge and also put additional ice cubes in the water compartment. It does make another 1 - 2 Deg. Cels. difference. :-)
  
  For better price: Buy directly from Klarstein website during a sale period. Got it for about 90CHF which is a much better price for the performance. Delivery was within 3 working days. more
