Cooking at the table is becoming increasingly popular in Germany. Today, grilling and cooking on a hot stone is a special way of table cooking, where each guest can prepare their meal just the way they like it. Unlike other forms of table cooking, a hot stone allows for larger pieces, such as steaks or larger fish fillets, to be cooked as well. Grilling and frying on the hot stone is very healthy and low in calories since the food can be cooked practically without or with very little fat and oil. The very hot surface of the stone ensures that the outside of the food quickly develops the desired flavorful roasting compounds. Meanwhile, the slow release of heat from the stone gently cooks the inside of the food, preserving the flavors and significantly reducing the risk of overcooking. Cooking with the hot stone is simple and requires little preparation. All that needs to be done is to preheat the stone in the oven at 230 - 250°C for about 30-60 minutes (depending on the thickness of the stone). After that, the stone is placed on the designated plate, and off you go. Practically anything can be prepared on the hot stone according to personal taste, whether it be meat, fish, or vegetables. The color of the wooden board may vary.
