Product details

In the Neukölln corner pub "Zur Wildnis", where Helmut Krausser plays backgammon with friends once or twice a week, encounters, conversations and discussions take place between people who could hardly be more different. This is due to the very social beer prices and a living room-like atmosphere. Time can be comfortably diluted here, and with Manni, the landlord, you can sign on as a regular without risking a disapproving grimace. Because of its status as a smokers' pub, there is nothing left to eat in the "Wildnis". However, the public order office allows guests to bring food from home and have it heated up by the landlord. Manni has therefore bought a microwave oven, and he always has a little bit of what he has brought with him in the fridge. Meatballs, bockwurst, potato salad, things like that. Tourists rarely come here, but if they do, they are served so carelessly that they leave immediately. Krausser has captured his experiences in the "wilderness" in columns that appeared in the Berlin city magazine "Zitty" from 2015 to 2018: trenchant, funny, lively observations from the big city - with the snotty charm of Berlin's service culture.
