The Future of the Past - Industrial Culture on the Move The publication accompanying the theme year Kulturland Brandenburg 2021 'The Future of the Past - Industrial Culture on the Move' looks at the industrial history, present and future of the state of Brandenburg from different perspectives. It posits the thesis that the much-vaunted deindustrialisation has not come true and that the state is undergoing a multi-layered transformation process, a structural change in industrial production towards a decentralised, green, modern and digital industry. Articles The articles were presented by representatives of the Brandenburg Museum Association, the IBA Study Centre, the Stralsund Water and Shipping Authority, the Fridays for Future Regional Group Brandenburg, the Potsdam Institute forr Climate Impact Research, the Innovation Region Lusatia, Creative Lusatia, the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy, the Brandenburg University of Technology as well as scientists, experts and journalists from Brandenburg, Berlin, Georgia, Poland, Romania and New York. Photos The text contributions are accompanied by photo series by Potsdam photographer Frank Gaudlitz. His view takes us from the age of industrialisation to a new industrial state of Brandenburg 4.0, guided by the ever tighter pace of modern production.
