Zeitsprünge Berlin-Weissensee

"Where was that exactly?" "What is there today?" Michael Haslau heard these questions frequently after the publication of his successful illustrated book "Berlin-Weißensee in Old Views". Together with photographer Christian A. Bard, he has now set out on a search for traces in his district to find an answer. The fascinating journey through time begins 100 years ago. By juxtaposing 80 old, mostly unpublished views with brilliant new photos, the two Weißenseers provide interesting insights into the eventful history of their neighbourhood. The changes become clear above all in the cityscape, when strolling through the streets, past residential buildings, churches and schools. But the constantly changing everyday life of the residents of the once independent Berlin suburb of Weißensee is also reflected in events or the changing fashion. After a stroll along the street, the viewer lingers at the Weißensee Flower Festival or feasts in the café "Zum Storchennest". Old residents and newcomers alike are invited to compare and remember.
