PMC (Private Military Company) Wagner is a private Russian security and military company whose units operate covertly and are considered particularly brutal. Wagner was active during the Russian takeover of Crimea and in Syria, Sudan, Angola, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique, and is currently fighting in Ukraine as well. Former Wagner mercenary Marat Gabidullin provides a deep insight into the inner workings of this group, whose systematic connection to the Kremlin and the Russian army is vehemently denied by Putin.
