Product details

Living on just a few square metres? Unimaginable for most people. The actors of the Tiny House Movement, however, are consciously committed to this alternative form of living. Living in a micro house does not only refer to a place of residence, but also reveals a new cultural habitus that is oriented towards sustainability and simplicity and is linked to political demands. The movement goes hand in hand with the presumed objective of an alternative living and lifestyle and is increasingly interpreted as an attempt to distance oneself from a postmodern consumer culture in the sense of a post-growth strategy. The aim of the ethnographic research was to make the contemporary and much-discussed phenomenon of the Tiny House Movement tangible and tangible in its basic features. The main focus of the research was on the actors and their intrinsic motivation in order to reveal the social character of the movement.
