Product details
Shinjuku, a district in Tokyo: Here, Yama, a failed television writer in his mid-twenties, meets Yume, a taciturn waitress. Both are outsiders who have almost given up hope of finding their place in life. Yume works in a bar called Karinka, which provides a home for quirky individuals as well as stray cats. When Yama first enters this place, he is completely captivated by the people, the atmosphere, and the special role that the four-legged creatures play in Karinka. He begins to trust Yume, with whom he soon starts caring for the street cats. A deeper friendship seems to develop between them, but then Yume's past catches up with her.
"The Cats of Shinjuku" tells the story of two people who struggle with themselves and try to save each other: a bittersweet novel that pays attention to the little things, told with sensitivity and warmth.
