Die Kunst, ein Egoist zu sein

In this book Josef Kirschner makes the following provocative basic thesis: "We are all egoists, but only a few of us know how to make the best of it for themselves. Most people prefer to adapt to the world around them. They do everything to be loved, praised and acknowledged. In doing so, they make themselves into puppets of general behavioral clichés and refrain from living their own lives." It is not at all difficult to determine one's own life, to fulfil one's wishes, to suppress them, and to assert oneself against external resistance.
In 'The Art of Being an Egoist' it is shown how to show it, how to do it. Not pleasingly, not considerately, but mercilessly, those weaknesses are brought before our eyes which prevent us from self-realization.
