Product details

Since the advent of computer graphics, there has been a continuous effort to enhance the quality of representation, striving for absolute realism. Shaders are an important tool in this endeavor, enabling the creation of more realistic-looking materials in computer graphics. Shaders provide graphics programmers with unprecedented flexibility. The previously rigid specifications of graphics processors can now be tailored to individual needs. This book offers a quick introduction to high-level shading languages. The principles are explained using example shaders in the OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL). Various approaches are discussed, and potential sources of error are identified. The integration of the developed shaders into personal OpenGL applications is clarified. Additionally, an introduction to texture creation and 3D modeling is provided.
