The IMAGO.Praxis series is the third element of the IMAGO publication series. It complements the other two formats: the IMAGO book series, in which basic texts and research papers on academic art education and didactics are published, and the IMAGO journal, which focuses on specific topics (learning, painting, mimesis, etc.).and, in the sense of practical research, combines subject-focussed didactic considerations with theoretical reference texts and practical teaching reflections. IMAGO.practice closes the gap to teaching practice and sees itself as application-oriented, practical teaching material on the foundation of a relational, anthropologically orientated art education. The series begins with a model for conceptualising and planning art lessons. The model, conceived in the form of a handout, does not completely reinvent lesson planning. However, it departs from close-meshed, tabular planning and opposes it with a 'didactic figure' as a complex model for thinking and designing, which is modularly structured and creates scope for giving lesson plans variable layouts. The starting point for every plan is a main task that marks the content and design problem horizon of a lesson or unit and on which all further planning considerations are based.
