Welcome to Dettebüll!
Mathilda loves her village Dettebüll in North Frisia, its inhabitants and her family. Well, except for Ilse, her mother, perhaps. Ilse is - in contrast to Mathilda - a spawn of malice and baseness. Change is anathema to Mathilda, and so she has been fighting for harmony in the family for forty years. But then Mathilda, and with her the whole of Dettebüll, is caught up in a maelstrom of events that thoroughly unhinge the peace in her village: Dubious men in dark suits suddenly take an interest in the endless meadows of Dettebüll. Unrest spreads among the villagers. And even before Mathilda can make sense of all this, the first death occurs: Ilse dies in a tragic accident (under the influence of frozen food). And she will not remain the only dead.
