Ljubljana und Slowenien

Nowhere else is so much Europe to be found in such a small space as in Slovenia - from the sea to the Alps and the Pannonian Plain. A country full of contrasts, change and transformation. This is impressively reflected in the literature and in the language, including its rich dialects.
It is easy to fall in love with the capital Ljubljana, which has become a cultural "melting pot" since independence and holds the title UNESCO City of Literature. But if you really want to get to know the people, you have to go to the hinterland or open a book.
There, it's ironically-seriously about everything and nothing. For many authors, language is still closely connected with memory culture and the wounds of history. For others, Slovenian is a pure miracle, a space of liberation and revolt, an endless, squealing and screaming paradise on the sunny side of the Alps.
