Jenseits der Blattränder

The book tells of the peculiarities and abilities of plants "beyond the edges of the leaves", of the networks of relationships they form with other living beings, including us humans: a collection of fragments that reflect not only scientific findings but also personal experiences and observations. For example, we learn that the root system of a young rye plant grows almost five kilometres per day, but also how the shape, colour and taste of the lemon already indicate its refreshing and invigorating effect as a remedy. Recent research results also show that plants are much more closely connected to us than we would have thought: for example, parts of their genetic material reach our cells.
