Jacob beschliesst zu lieben

In his new great novel Catalin Dorian Florescu tells the adventurous life story of Jacob Obertin from the Swabian village Triebswetter in the Romanian Banat. It is a story of love and friendship, flight and betrayal, and about how the ability of a person to love can save them from everything. Jacob's story - set between the end of the 1920s and the beginning of the 1950s - expands into a family epic, in which the Obertins' fate is told at high speed and in dense, fantastic images over 300 years, beginning with the 30-year war in Lorraine.
