Product details

The "Dietel / Gintzel / Kniesel," first published in 1968 as "Dietel / Gintzel," is the standard work in the field of assembly law. Since the federalism reform, legislative authority in assembly law has been transferred to the states.

This work is the first choice for practitioners in assembly authorities as well as for administrative courts, and its depth of presentation also meets academic standards. Due to the high relevance of assembly law for examinations, it provides assistance to trainees and students. Even legal laypersons can gain initial orientation in a legal field that is politically and legally highly sensitive and subject to constant change in the forms of assemblies.

New in the 19th edition:

The 19th edition will be published under new authorship and in a new format of commentary.

The group of authors, which has existed since the 17th edition, consisting of former State Councilor Dr. Michael Kniesel, Prof. Dr. Frank Braun, and Chief Police Director Christoph Keller, has been expanded to include Prof. Dr. Norbert Ullrich, a private lecturer at the University of Göttingen. The format of the commentary on state assembly laws had to change after North Rhine-Westphalia also adopted its own assembly law. The federal assembly law, which still applies in nine federal states, will continue to hold special significance in the commentary, but the state assembly laws of Bavaria, Berlin, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Schleswig-Holstein will each be presented in a separate commentary, highlighting their specific features and their relation to the federal assembly law.

The sample decisions will be presented in a revised and expanded form in the appendix.
