Product details

This volume is a collection of Jung's works on childhood psychology. The centerpiece is three lectures on "Analytical Psychology and Education." Jung considers the psychology of parents and educators to be crucial in the growth and maturation process, particularly in the case of the unusually gifted. He emphasizes the importance of an unsatisfactory psychological relationship between parents as a cause of psychogenic disorders in childhood. It was therefore natural to include Jung's essay "Marriage as a Psychological Relationship" and to connect the issues of childhood with those of the self-actualization of adulthood. Consequently, the essay "On the Development of Personality" has been added, which - by title and content - constitutes the theme of this book. The still widespread prejudice that Jung's psychology only pertains to the second half of life or is exclusively focused on it is addressed.
