FEA with powerful and freely available software

This book provides clear explanations of FEA in theory and practice. The reader receives the full versions of the open-source FEA program Z88 V15 and the freeware program Z88Aurora for Windows, UNIX/LINUX, and MAC from the authors' download page. The source code of Z88 V15 allows ambitious users to customize the FEA program to their needs.

Z88Aurora is particularly characterized by its intuitive graphical user interface. Additional calculation methods such as steady-state heat conduction and convection, nonlinear strength calculations, eigenfrequency calculations, and contact analyses can be performed. With the help of over 40 examples, the reader can experience FEA "live" and understand it. The 6th edition is significantly expanded, as the functionality of the further developed software offers entirely new possibilities that were not available before. Users can now calculate entire assemblies with all interactions of load cases, where previously only individual parts were possible. Additionally, there is a new module called Z88Arion, which allows for structural optimizations for lightweight components that can subsequently be produced using generative manufacturing processes.
