Product details

Serhij Zhadan, poet, writer and activist, is one of the protagonists of the freedom movement in Ukraine. He lives in the eastern part of the country, in Kharkiv - and this is not an easy place for friends of democratic rights. Zhadan was beaten up and hospitalised by a gang of strangers at the beginning of March. In the anthology DIE SELBSTMORDRATE BEI CLOWNS, he reports on the early days of independent Ukraine in stories and other texts. That was just a few years ago - the book, entertaining, bitter and quick, helps to understand what is happening in this European country in the first months of 2014.
