Der Himmel ist kein Ort

The novel begins like a detective story and develops into a social drama rich in characters. The main character is the young country priest Ralf Henrichsen, who is called to the scene of an accident one night. A car has gone off the road and crashed into a lake. The driver has saved himself, but his wife and son are recovered lifeless. How this could have happened is unclear. In the aftermath of the events, Henrichsen falls into a widening crisis of meaning.
