The two-volume text collection contains texts in abbreviated form on the Chinese present and contemporary history. It is based on the authors' many years of teaching experience and on feedback from German students. It is based on the common language level of basic courses at grammar schools. By giving preference to simple sentences and everyday language formulations and by taking into account the vocabulary the students have learned so far, it enables them to experience success and increases motivation.
