»Cancel Culture« – Ende der Aufklärung?

The threats to democracy are increasing: the electoral successes of right-wing populist parties in Sweden and Italy, the erosion of the rule of law in Hungary and Poland, as well as conflicts with authoritarian regimes all illustrate this, along with the loss of democratic civil culture. Cancel culture is part of an increasingly democracy-threatening practice. It is all the more important to defend humanism and enlightenment against intolerance, ignorance, incitement, and refusal to engage in discourse, and to strengthen political judgment. This book makes a pointed contribution to this from a philosophical perspective.
