Product details
Many personality structures and disorders are subject to recurring patterns of experience and behaviour, so-called life traps. These can be understood as the result of massive frustrations of basic psychological needs. The aim of a schematherapeutic approach is therefore to uncover violated basic needs and to resolve maladaptive forms of coping in an educational and development-orientated therapeutic relationship. Using case vignettes and practical exercises, the authors provide a compact introduction to the model of schema therapy, relationship design and the application of the most important experience-activating techniques (imaginations and mode dialogues on several chairs) - taking into account recent developments such as a metacognitive and interpersonal perspective. The book is intended as an introduction for therapists of all schools and as an overview for schema therapists and is now available as a second edition in an expanded form. The appendix, also available for download, offers working materials for therapeutic practice.
